Barnardo’s and Staffordshire County Council have created a new service aimed at supporting the emotional well being of young people between the ages of eleven and eighteen – www.upsideonline.co.uk This is in response to the number of young people experiencing issues such as bullying, cyber bullying, eating disorders, bereavement and loss, family separation, fear and worries, anger management etc.
Young people can use the anonymous and confidential service in three ways. They can log on to Upside to gain access to fact sheets or be signposted to other websites. They can also email in specific questions and have a reply with 48 hours. Alternatively, they can access a live chat room between the hours of 6.00pm and 11.00pm.
