Sponsored Silence Raises £1209.77

The RE department at Norton Canes has a reputation for charitable giving, but this year a sponsored silence has raised a record-breaking amount.

A small number of pupils took part in the event just before Christmas, and raised an amazing £1209.77.

The event was inspired by an appeal by the charity SAVE THE CHILDREN, on behalf of children of Syria affected by  war, and was organised by Year 10 students Steven, Joanne, Chelsey, Katy and Eve. The money will be used to help children traumatized by the war in their country, and to ensure they survive the cold of wnter.

The UK AID MATCH scheme, means the government will double the amount raised.IMG_1645
