In addition to our broad and balanced curriculum, Norton Canes High School offers our students in-depth opportunities in a number of areas which support them in achieving their highest aspirations.  From September 2016 we are proud to welcome the MOCEFA academy who will deliver specialist and professional football qualifications to post 16 students.

MOCEFA is the Martin O’Connor education and football academy.  Many of you will recognise the name as Martin is an ex-professional footballer who has been involved in football at all levels from youth teams to senior professional for nearly 30 years.  He has played for a number of football clubs from Crystal Palace, Birmingham City, Walsall, Peterborough United, Shrewsbury Town and Kidderminster Harriers with the distinction of captaining all those clubs. In his coaching career he has worked as a youth team coach through to an assistant manager of a league club gaining a great level of experience in developing and fulfilling players’ potential.

We are thrilled that Martin approached us earlier in the year and that we are welcoming his already successful football academy and team of expert staff to be an integral part of Norton Canes High School. The academy is open to Post 16 students who wish to pursue a Level 2 or 3 Sports course with a predominant focus on professional football and all related aspects.

This will bring immense benefits to all students within school and in the local area. MOCEFA share the same values as we do in recognising potential, nurturing talent and self-belief to enable all pupils to achieve their aspiration whatever that might be.
