2016 Ski Trip

In the early hours of Saturday 20th February Mr Farley and Mrs Spence set off to Manchester airport with an excited band of 29 students from the school to embark for many on the adventure of a lifetime… Ski 2016 was underway, 18 months of planning had finally come to fruition and we were off. Remarkably only one passport was left at the check in desk and only one student was stopped for having liquids in their hand luggage. We had a range of experienced travellers and some flying for the first time and along with it  a range of emotions.

The flight along with transfer to the resort was a little long although uneventful for the most. The first day greeted us with excellent conditions and the week provided everyone with the opportunity to learn or to improve on their skills on the slopes. The daytime provided two blocks of two hour lessons and the evening a variety of après ski activities from bowling to watching ski shows.

The Clubhotel Frejus in Serre Chevalier was a great base only 50 yards from one of the main lifts onto the mountain and served us with a variety of excellent food throughout the week.

Despite the bumps and bruises that go along with any sporting activity like this everyone had a great time and demonstrated their progress and development as the week progressed this being evidenced through the awards presented to the students by l’Ecole Ski du Francais at the end of the week.

Serre Chevalier was a new resort for ski visits from Norton Canes but one that provided exceptional skiing amongst its 250 km of piste.

ski group v2Another successful visit for the school and again the students were a credit to us. Congratulations and well done to everyone who took part and a special thanks to Mrs Spence and Mr Farley for supporting the trip.
